Education, health, and nutrition in Bun Beleng Village, West Lombok

A celebration of care, connection, and community on Indonesia’s Independence Day

A day of discovery

In the heart of Bun Beleng Village, nestled in the hills of Sekotong, West Lombok, the
IWANI team came together with one simple purpose, to share love.

On the occasion of Indonesia’s Independence Day, we organized a community service
event filled with joy, compassion, and learning. Together with the volunteers
from Saling Jaga Indonesia, we turned this special day into one of giving back, to
health, to education, and to hope.

This is the story of how IWANI Shares Love.

Free health check-ups and medication:
caring for community wellness

We began the day by offering free health check-ups to all villagers, from children to the elderly. Local residents lined up with enthusiasm, receiving not only health consultations but also free medication for those in need.

At IWANI, we believe well-being begins with care, and ensuring that every member of the community can access basic healthcare is part of our broader mission to nurture life in every form.

Healthy communities are the roots of a sustainable future, and that’s why we keep showing up.

Nutrition to combat stunting: healthy kids, bright futures

Good nutrition is the foundation of lifelong health. Recognizing the importance
of preventing stunting among children, IWANI distributed nutritious meals,
including mung bean porridge and fresh milk, to young children in Bun Beleng.

Their laughter and excitement as they enjoyed these meals reminded us that small gestures, like a warm bowl of porridge, can make a world of difference.
This is what IWANI Shares Love is all about: turning nourishment into happiness.

Learning through play: education with joy

Education is most powerful when it’s fun. Through interactive learning activities, we created a day full of colour, curiosity, and creativity.

Children joined in educational games, drawing sessions, and story-based learning, each activity designed to encourage imagination and teamwork.

The schoolyard echoed with laughter, a beautiful reminder that learning and love grow best together.

Together we make a difference

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of Saling Jaga Indonesia volunteers. Their energy, compassion, and teamwork brought life to every activity.

We’re deeply grateful to these partners who share our commitment to community empowerment and sustainability. Together, we’re not just helping for a day, we’re building long-term impact for villages like Bun Beleng.

By the end of the day, Bun Beleng was filled with laughter, color, and connection. From free health services to nutritious meals and educational games, every moment reflected IWANI’s mission: to care for people, nurture communities, and protect the planet.
